The Milan de Winter series is a psychological noir thriller series by Leo van der Aalst.
It follows a man who sells discretion, reads people for a living and quietly handles problems for clients who cannot afford scandal.
The first novel, The Price of Proximity, is currently in development. The story moves through private rooms, expensive silence and the dangerous space between desire and control.

Writing update — May 2026
The Price of Proximity is the working title of my debut Milan de Winter thriller.
The manuscript is still in progress. The current title and cover studies are working versions, not final artwork. Still, they capture the atmosphere I am aiming for: elegant, tense and quietly dangerous.
There are already small clues hidden in the cover studies, although the full story stays undisclosed for now.
